Tell me if this is something you’d like:

What if each month I give you patrons a different classic, or newer, Abney Park album, with an introspection for each song? Me talking about the origins of songs, and inspirations.

Would that be interesting?

im way late to this, going back through all the old posts i missed, i LOVE the introspection tracks, i always love hearing the origins of songs.

Phill The Thrill Gribben

It is your introspections that captured my attention. They make you human and accessible. That powerful.

Cheri Roberts

YES!! It would be awesome! There's nothing cooler than getting introspection from a favorite artist. : )

Ted & Carolyn Basiura

Thats what Kristina thinks, that I should just do them myself. But honestly, I've got a bunch more chapters I can release, so I think I'll just keep going on them as is.

I am sorry about that. I love your stories and voice. I like the radio drama format it does make the storyline more full body. I really love the your voice. The stories are something you could do without the radio drama format like your introspections, they are a very intimate experience. Just a thought.

Lois Milare

I’ll do my best. Honestly, my thoughts on that went like this: radio play cost a lot of money, and take a lot of time to produce, but I wasn’t getting a lot of feed back. I’d spend days, and hundreds of dollars on those, and when I release them on patreon, I’d get like two comments...so I didn’t know if anybody cared.

Abney Park

Honestly I would like more chapters ♡

Lois Milare

I love it. You have an amazingly prolific 20 year legacy going from Gothic industrial to founder of the Steampunk genre, to continuing pioneer of music, with a remarkable list of talent, both past and present with the band. I'd love to know more about the inspiration of your work, both iconic, like Airship Pirates, and esoteric, like Twisted and Broken.

Jonathan Coolidge

Yes, it would be interesting. I enjoy hearing the stories behind songs!

Connor B.

I think that'd be awesome to do, it could even be a podcast if you had the time for it. Each episode talking about a few songs and where the inspiration came from, or other interesting stories with them.

Raine Oberlin

Yeah! Love it

Jessica Lynne Witty

Actually sounds fascinating. Go for it, Robert.

Mungo

Yes!

Mary Christou

I would like that a lot, particularly if you included links to other material that was part of the inspiration. I like learning about the depth and complexity behind media I enjoy.

DrWex

Definitely interested myself

Allen Smith

YAS! I'm always fascinated by the stories and inspiration behind each song!

Jennifer Townsend

Have to agree, it would fantastic to story behind the songs.

Micheal Elliott

We would absolutely love this! The introspections from the 5 cd set were wonderful, and a great look into the thoughts behind the lyrics.

Kirsten Weispfenning

I would adore this. The Not Silent introspection is one video I show so many people to get interested in Abney Park. It's so meaningful and such a good song and the introspection adds a whole new level.

Erin!!

OH my God yes! I love reading about how art I love was created!

Maciej Żywioł

Hi Cap'n. Always found any of your backstories and tales interesting. I say go for it!

Bob Daubney

That would be cool. I'd love to see it as a video! Also, i'd love to see a tier added where the main reward is a D/L of new albums as they come out.

Stephen Opipari

Yes, I think it would be a great idea. It might also help if some of the other band members provided their insights as well.

Lawrence Tagrin

I would like that.

Philip Stevens

I think that would be amazing, I really loved listening to the last set of introspections you did.

Candie Kohler

I think so yeah. I loved the introspecs from that 5 disc set and have always been curious how some of your other songs have come about.

Mark Stanley

I would love that!

Andrew Oh

I love the idea. It is always interesting to see if my take on the lyrics is anything like what was going on in your head when you wrote it. I enjoy your speaking voice as well.

Bobbie

That sounds cool!

Julio Capa

Sounds awesome, I have always wanted to know the back stories behind some songs.

Luna Walter

Yes!!
