Free Never Before Released Song: "Dark Vocation"
Added 2017-11-05 20:08:41 +0000 UTCI wrote this yesterday/this morning, and thought I'd give it to you as a special gift to say thanks for supporting Abney Park. This is brand new. I mean, nobody has even recorded on it yet, Just me. So it'll probably be a lot different y the time it makes it to an album.
Dark Vocation
i walk these streets all alone at midnight when no ones watching.
I keep a blade long and thin and white stuck in my boot.
I see a woman step out of her doorway and pull up her stocking.
I see men start to follow, their faces are covered in soot.
I keep the balance
in the night
I hunger for the fight
I shivery with anticipation
the moon she watches every stride
she’s keeping me alive
my singularly dark vocation
I hear the men call out to their victim, their voices mocking.
the woman eyes flash from side to side, she wants a different route.
but before she can change her course, the alley is ended.
they yell out “whore! better open the store! your den of disrepute!”
I keep the balance
in the night
I hunger for the fight
I shivery with anticipation
the moon she watches every stride
she’s keeping me alive
my singularly dark vocation
silently slide the knife from my boot, under the firsts back rib cage
turned in a flash and I made a deep slash in another throat
cut off the ear of a man who should near and he yelled in out rage
not tell in fell could the bully tell I stabbed him through his coat.
I keep the balance
in the night
I hunger for the fight
I shivery with anticipation
the moon she watches every stride
she’s keeping me alive
my singularly dark vocation
Comments
It will be nice to hear it cleaned up, but at first glance, it makes me think of Victorian Vigilante.
