Dev Blog #17

Hey everyone!  Alright, so I totally missed last weeks dev blog due to the public release being sent out.  So, the first question I know a lot of you have is where the heck is the Android Release?  Well, to be honest, I still don't have it back yet.  I don't know why it's taking so long but my normal guy that ports my builds over has gone awol.  So I'm going to send it to another porter.  I'm sorry for that!  I know a lot of you have been patiently waiting for that build as Android is your only way to play the game at the moment. -____-

Since dealing with the game releases, what have we been doing?

Pale Horse has been focused on developing the framework for our battle mini game system.  This framework will be the foundation for a lot of the mini games for future content.  Because of the trouble we've been having with implementing the "store working mini game" We've been talking about restructuring the entire experience completely and creating a new version using the framework from the battle system.  We've got a mockup of the new layout with stand in art work that I'll show in another patron post ^_^

Voodoo Monkey (me) has been focusing on concepting new areas of the main story, armors for Stephen and writing out new H-Scenes.  Right now my main content focus for the next content update is add more H-Scenes into the game.  Right now, the extra scenes will definitely not be balanced as it's progressing Lyla's sloot factor incredibly quickly so future updates, we'll focus on rebalancing the points distribution and how fast Lyla corrupts.  But in the mean time it'll just turn into a dirty free for all for a little bit.

Anyways, that's been the primary focus, trying not to get distracted with scope creep and trying to keep the update rounds much smaller in content so I can send them out much more frequently.

I'll be posting up the new concepts real soon.  Also, I've recorded about 95% of my work on all of the content from the last update so I'll be compiling videos showing my process!

Side Note: I've also been focused on learning new techniques for helping me concept out the environments faster.  I've been spending a lot of time learning the Grease Pencil tool in Blender to directly sketch and draw in 3D space.  I'm starting to get the hang of it, if this works out, the quality of the environments will increase by a lot.

Personal Side Note:  This weekend has been tough, I had a pet medical emergency and had to put my little furbaby down.  I didn't get a lot of dev work done this weekend.
