e-deologies III, 2022

E-deology is an internet slang term used to describe the pairing of prefixes and suffixes to generate complex ideological labels. These hyper-specific categories serve as a gamified form of identity play and niche personal branding in the chaotic landscape of online politics. 

• Buddhist Anarchism

The dharma wheel (left) and anarchist ‘A' (right) border the Tibetan endless knot (center). Communist red and anarchist black signify an anti-hierarchical, stateless society of collective ownership. No material wealth or political power will grant permanent happiness—unenlightened satisfaction is an illusion that only perpetuates samsara. 

• Islamo Nazbol

A nationalistic theocracy that is economically left but culturally conservative. The communist hammer symbolizes the power of the industrial working class, paired with a sword symbolizing fascist military might. The moon and crescent represent Allah’s guidance along the path of life.

• Anarcho-Capitalist Voluntarist Pacificism

New Hampshire Free State activist, Dennis Pratt, was deplatformed from Quora after engaging in lengthy debates over libertarian ethics across 1800 unique comment threads. His writings espouse the desire for a forceless and stateless society whose private property rights allow for voluntary transactions within a free market.

• Anarcho-Collectivist Capitalist Mutualism

*exhales* sometimes the people who make these don’t really understand one (or both) of the ideologies. In this case it might be all three. Ancaps and Ancoms will often express support for Mutualism, a political philosophy associated with Pierre-Joseph Proudhon. But you can’t have private AND collective ownership. Tbh this guy probably thinks the snake is cool and I hope he reads a book in the near future.

• Trans Korean

Although he is of British descent, influencer Oli London identifies as South Korean. In 2021, his “racial transition” attracted worldwide attention and stirred debate around the validity of being transracial. In 2022, London transitioned genders (then back again) and now appears on right-wing media outlets such as Newsmax as an outspoken detransitioner and devout christian.

• Center for Political Innovation

Founded by a disparate group of YouTubers and content creators, the CPI described itself as a Marxist-Leninist organization in the age of multi-polarity. Blending historical narratives and tendencies from the left with strange sympathies for the far right, they orchestrated a variety of IRL spectacles that caught online media attention. After a series of allegations from former members, the organization dissolved in 2022.

• Primitivist Juche

Primitivist green overlays the North Korean flag for an isolationist society that rejects both technology and personal freedom.

• American K9 Tracker Unit

This is real. It’s not American furry-ism lol. The symbol is sometimes used as a patch for police service animals in the field.
