Half-Life 2 (CM13 and MMod) - Reshade Preset v1.0 - Remaster . Photomood . Filmic

Remaster, Photomood and Filmic presets are available for the Half-Life 2 (Cinematic Mod 2013 + MMod). These are Raytracing (RT) presets.

These presets were made for Half-Life 2 - Cinematic Mod 2013 + MMod (Not for the vanilla game).

Some gamers don't like the original Cinematic mod, because of the weird NSFV human models and wallpaper textures, Music, New weapons, different overall visual style, So the original Half-Life 2 ambience is almost lost.

Lets try to avoid that with this mods pack (and settings): Cinematic Mod 2013 combined with MMod (visuals, weapons animations and particle system), Juniez HL2 original weapons remake, HL2 original music (mixed), up to 70 mods including retextures and new meshes for various models.

I will make presets for the Half-Life 2 Remastered Collection later, when it's released. The Remastered Collection is currently being developed by Filip Victor, the same developer who developed Half-Life 2 Update.

Also Half-Life 2 RTX was announced.

How to install Half-Life 2 - Cinematic Mod 2013 + MMod + Mods Pack. How to configure various settings to get proper image when using these Reshade presets.

01. You will need original/vanilla HL2, HL2 Episode 1 and HL2 Episode 2 games (steam version) without any mods, installed on the same drive where your steam installed. Usually it is your (C:) Drive. If you already have these games installed on another drive, or if you are using some mods you have to fully uninstall/reinstall.

02. After installation launch: Half-Life2, set video options to max/on. and quit. Do the same for HL2 Episode1 and HL2 Episode2.

03. Exit (Turn OFF) steam!

04. Go to the link and download all 9 parts of CM2013 v1.2 Full : "CM2013 v1.2 Full Part01" to "CM2013 v1.2 Full Part09". On the same page, download CM2013 - Update 1.24

Extract downloaded archives and install CM2013 v1.2 (follow installer) then install CM2013 - Update 1.24

Extract and copy/paste CM2013 folder into the following location [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common] (overwrite if asks)

06. Download custom sourcemods archive (Includes MMod and up to 70 mods including Juniez HL2 original weapons remake, retextures and new meshes for various objects/models, Soundtracks remade)

Extract and put sourcemods folder into the following location [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps] (overwrite if asks)

07. Open your Start menu, scroll down and click on FAKEFACTORY CM2013 folder, launch Character Pimper. Make sure that every model is set to "Original VALVE model" for every tab: Alyx, Maincharacters, Civilian, Combine. (if not, just click on "Original VALVE model" button to install original models). It should look like this: see the screenshot above for Character Pimper.

08. Start menu / FAKEFACTORY CM2013, launch Cinematic Mod Configuration Tool. Set all settings as shown in the screenshot above.

09. Start steam. You should see new Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2), Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2 EP1) and Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2 EP2) games in your steam library (see the screenshot above). These are the game shortcuts you should use to get working this mod pack! Launch each of them and quit.

10. Go to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CM2013] and delete SweetFX and SweetFX_Resources folders.

Also Go to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CM2013\bin] and delete SweetFX folder.

11. Install Reshade for hl2.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe) - Quick guide below

12. After that, when you launch Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2), Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2 EP1) or Half-Life 2: MMod (CM2013: HL2 EP2) from your steam library, when in-game, open Half-Life 2: MMod Options and set all settings as shown in the screenshot above (For each game).

RT Presets are little bit heavy in terms of performance because of the RTGI shader. You can get more FPS with some tweaking - see the last picture above

Quick guide (How to install Reshade/preset):

01. Download Reshade: https://reshade.me/ and run downloaded file

02. Select the game in the list (hl2.exe)

03. Choose the proper rendering API (For this game select DirectX 9)

04. Select and download all effect (shader) packages

05. These are RT Presets. You should get mcflypg's RTGI shader (5$ tier): https://www.patreon.com/mcflypg/ Presets will work without RTGI shader, but you get different visuals.

06. Download my Reshade Preset(s) archive(s), extract it and put extracted files (.ini file and the reshade-shaders folder) into the [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\bin] folder (Overwrite if asks).

07. Check in-game Reshade interface. You should see these shaders below as active in this order:

If the shader has the (Opt.) sign next to it, that shader is optional for a specific preset. You can disable them from Reshade GUI. These, however, are well-balanced and I recommend keeping them enabled for better visuals.

Note: Some shaders may give a very subtle effect in some areas. However, they have a significant impact on other environments. So I recommend you don't turn off any shaders if you want the preset to work as it should. I'll always let you know when there are optional shaders in my presets.

Important: Presets were tweaked and tested in SDR (Non-HDR) game/monitor mode. It may not look decent in HDR mode. To deactivate HDR mode, go to in-game Display/Graphics settings. Also disable HDR for your Monitor, or set HDR levels to low. You can also try to tweak presets using extra shaders like: LevelsPlus, PD80_03_Levels or curves by yourself for HDR TV.

I plan to release HDR presets separately in the future if the project runs well with your support.

The same image looks different on different screens. You might need some tweaking for your monitor's brightness/contrast/saturation if Reshade differs from the showcase.
