Neebs and Lug Update, Loretober Day Four!

Although this information has been available on my artfight account since July, I've never actually updated the backstory of Neebs and Lug here on Patreon, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to make sure yall are up to date + give Neebs and Lug a new start of story look.

Neebs the Goblin:
Neebs was born and raised in the Anklebiter goblin clan. Despite her three brothers being very successful in goblin society, Neebs has spent most of her adult life sleeping, drinking, and playing hooky. Because of this behavior she has been kicked out of the Anklebiter clan by her mother and must forge her own way without the clan’s protection. 
After a few failed attempts at sneaking back into the clan, Neebs ventures into the forest and comes across a massive slime who she quickly learns is not just a mindless blob, but a walking, talking being named Lug! 

Realizing that Lug is kind and gullible, Neebs manages to fool him into thinking she is goblin royalty and that if he comes back with her to her clan, she could make him into a royal knight like he’s always dreamed of. Her actual plan is to trade Lug’s enslavement for her acceptance back in the clan, but Neebs quickly gets lost in the woods while searching for the way back home and is forced to continue playing the part she’s made for herself.
 While in search for her elusive clan, Neebs goes on many adventures with Lug acting as her royal guard.

Fun facts:
-Neebs is selfish, lazy, cowardly, and has a big ego. She is willing to manipulate others in order to get what she wants, but she’d not that great at actually doing it.
-Neebs thinks she wants to live a life with no expectations or responsibilities, but in reality she believes she’s not good at anything and doesn’t want to earnestly try new things only to fail.
-She is deathly afraid of bugs, especially bees.

Lug the Slime:
Lug does not remember where he came from, but he does know that for most of his life he was mindlessly roaming through forestland, absorbing anything that had a pulse and couldn’t get away, which was mainly injured animals. One day however, he came across an old human who had tripped and injured himself on a small forest path. After absorbing this old man, suddenly, new thoughts and memories that weren’t his came into Lug’s mind. Lug realized that by absorbing these tall, intelligent creatures, he would become more intelligent too. This drive to learn more took him towards an area of the forest where multiple monsters/beings surrounded a tower that men seemed willing to risk their lives to enter.
Lug fought against many men and had begun making friends with the other monsters living around the tower, but by absorbing so many of these chivalrous, knightly men, Lug began to develop a sort of moral code. One that didn’t align with attacking these humans on their journey towards the tower. So, he left to go on his own adventure, hoping to one day find a way to become a royal knight himself.
During his travels, he comes across a goblin named Neebs who says she’s part of a royal family and that, if he’d be willing to safely escort her back home, she would convince her family to make Lug a proper knight, sword, armor, the works.
 Eager to prove himself, Lug agrees and protects Princess Neebs as they journey towards her distant home.

Fun facts:
-Lug is fairly gullible, but has a lot of random knowledge about humans + their affairs due to absorbing so many intelligent, high-status men while living near the tower. (Though the context of said knowledge is often lost in translation.)
-Lug is quite deadly in a fight, but if he loses too much slime, he will pass out and take a while to regain consciousness. Losing his slime also makes him skinnier/weaker and (in extreme cases) can make him lose memories.
-Lug has met other slimes, but none nearly as intelligent as he has managed to become. He is unsure what his sex is or if slimes even have distinctive sexes and presents masc almost exclusively because of how many men he has absorbed over the years.
