Lived about 30 min outside of DC my whole life so came here to drop a rec for when you guys visit! Check out Theadore Roosevelt Island. Great little hiking spot with a cool memorial to TR that I didn’t hear about until well into my adult life. It’s a DC “hidden” gem with bit of an abandoned feel to it - it was built in the 1930s and it feels like they just forgot to tell people about it. Plenty of people wander around the island now-a-days as I feel like it’s become a bit more talked about of a spot in the age of the internet, but it’s never felt crowded like the other memorials. Highly recommend for a huge president buff like yourself, James. Hope y’all enjoy! https://www.nps.gov/this/index.htm

Love from Michigan! And on a funny note, I keep hearing a Fargo-esque "myeah!" from all 3 of them after watching it recently XD

I enjoy hearing you guys talk about Michigan. You have so much love for your state! 💚 I’m from West Michigan. 😁I’ve only been to the actual U.P a few times. Back in the day, going “Up North” to me meant going to places like Traverse City, Boyne, Petosky, Mackinac City/Island, etc a handful of times as a kid. I’ll be forever grateful to my grandparents for organizing all of those trips - I have so many fond memories to look back on exploring our beautiful state! I really want to go to the Porcupine Mountains someday! I went to Bronners a couple times as a kid and I went back a few years ago - I think I’m good now haha. That place gives me headaches now as an adult 😅 James, you have to take Chelsea to New Orleans!! I went my first time November of last year. Probably my favorite city in the US that I’ve ever visited. Thank you for sharing your fun travel stories to your sweet Patrons

This is such a great thing to listen to as someone who is currently in college and dealing with kids from money talking about where they’re going over the summer while I have never been out of the country or even west of Ohio— it’s nice to hear people appreciating those smaller excursions and road trips and celebrating how “traveling” needn’t necessarily be traveling the world ❤️
