FIRST PREVIEW: A Higurashi Gou & Sotsu Post-Mortem (+ April Updates)

Hello everyone!!

Today I am so excited to share the first preview for A Higurashi Gou & Sotsu Post-Mortem. This preview covers the first twenty-ish minutes of the video, which will be around 5.5 hours total. I'd say this is about 90% of the way to what the final video will look like -- there's a few small things I need to fix and change, but doing this helps me to spot them.

This will also function as my monthly updates post so let's get right into it. A lot has happened since my last update. Around the start of the month, I was travelling for a job interview -- and I got the job! They actually asked me to come back the next day and interview for a slightly higher position as well, then offered me that one, which I happily accepted. I’m genuinely thrilled and really looking forward to starting. It will be my first full-time job, and it’s related to what I studied. I’m due to start in mid to late May, and will also be moving and needing to find somewhere to live. I’m also taking a trip for my graduation ceremony between now and then.

Needless to say, it’s been a busy month, and things are going to get much busier. It’s a great problem to have, but a disruption of my plans nonetheless -- as I said last month, I was betting on being able to finish the video before I got hired (besides one a few months back, this was literally the first job I applied for).

But! As evidenced by the above, all is not lost. I will be doing my best to get as much of the video done as possible before I start work. In the time since my last update, I finished recording the full voiceover, edited about 55% of the audio and, of course, edited together the above video -- I managed to do that last one in just a few days. Overlapping production stages like this isn’t my usual way but has definitely been working best for me -- editing voiceover is mind-numbing, so this allows me to break it up. Above all, finally getting to the video editing stage has really lit a fire in my belly and I’ve had a lot of fun with it so far, as you can probably see. The plan is to release a few previews like this, maybe 3-5.

It's weird to think that I have whole videos that are shorter than this one, whereas this is evidently very much just an introduction. I nonetheless hope it's enjoyable, do of course feel welcome to let me know what you think so far, and thank you so much for your ongoing support and patience. I’ll be back very soon.
