Western Saddle Questions/WIP (again)
Added 2024-03-08 03:39:33 +0000 UTCOkay, I'm working on these as I finish other stuff. And I'm still just not sure. I'll repeat the questions below. You have them all on the first image and then the others show a closer view. Truly looking for critiques. If it's not looking right to your eye, please let me know.
- Should the saddles sit lower on the back? Some look a bit tall to me, but I'm very unfamiliar with this.
- Should the saddle skirts be longer (cover more on the horse)?
- Should they be more uniform in size (like cantle/pommel height on reining vs it on others)?
- Any errors in accuracy (cantle/pommel slope, girth missing, horn size, etc)?
I plan to make a better double girth connector as well as add the "accessory" billet to some of them (thanks for telling me sometimes it's just that not an actual second girth). If you have a preference for which ones get this, open to suggestions. And these are the "realistic" fit versions; will have a no stirrup version and an EA version on release

these r ridiculously pretty. i'm an english boy so i have absolutely jack to add but to my dumb eyes they look nice

2024-03-09 21:51:27 +0000 UTCI'm thinking of doing some saddle accessories, mostly for the bundled rope instead of including it with the roping saddle. Hadn't thought about trail bags, though. That's a good idea.

2024-03-09 06:01:04 +0000 UTCthe skirts can be longer. also trail saddles most times has a back cinch helps keep the back of the saddle from popping up and some trail saddle bags if you make those they use the bigger skirt, ties and back cinch straps to secure the saddle bag. id make the barrel saddle skirt a tad longer and depends on the person using the saddle if they use a back cinch.
