2024-01-24 17:18:45 +0000 UTCOne of the greatest performances of all time. (easily top 10). Also one of the most deserved oscars for best acting. The way she transforms from white swan to black swan - and I'm not just talking about the ballet scenes. How innocent and fragile she looked in the beginning, like a 12 year old. During "Leon the Professional" she actually was 12 years old and she looked older and more confident than in this movie. And her transformation was just glorious and totally believable. Darren Aronofsky just gets the best performances out of his actors - Like Ellen Burstyn for "Requiem for a dream", Mickey Rourke for "The Wrestler." And of course Brendan Fraser just last year winning his oscar for "The Whale". What makes him so unique as a director is the way he focuses on the main character like no other. He gives the main character so much room and the actors are able to completely lose themselves in their roles. Sure the supporting cast and their characters are incredible, all of them (Vincent Cassel in particular) but they stay in the background. And it all revolves around Nina. Aronofsky is a master at creating a true main character.

2024-01-24 09:49:17 +0000 UTCJust finished watching! This movie is fantastic! Natalie Portman deserved her Oscar for this.. not that the Oscars matter in my opinion but she was phenomenal. Darren Aronofsky is one of my favorite directors! Some of his other films I highly recommend are The Wrestler (Mickey Rourke is fantastic) Mother! (Jennifer Lawrence is great) and Requiem for a Dream (Ellen Burystn give one of the greatest acting performances I have ever seen) Anyways glad you enjoyed this film! Really hope you see more of his movies!! 😁🙏✌️
