Nothing that happens to Dwight is mean. It's his own fault for being too stupid to believe such ridiculous things. He has no mental deficiencies medically speaking, he's just a gullible idiot.

Mike has zero self-awareness. In most cases, there is no spite or malice. He actually loves the people and his job which is why he was so offended by the folks talking like prison was better. Sure on top of the self-awareness / common sense you can toss in some ignorance. At the end of the day, they are his family. Sad but true. They are his friends. Sad but true.... except for Toby. This might be one of the only episodes where Toby said something that brought mike off of the ledge.

Fun fact: The Christmas two-parter first aired together. However, when the episode is split in two for syndication reruns, the cliffhanger is indeed when Stanley stands up to choose, lol.

the fact that most of us didn't notice doesn't make us a whole lot better than Michael tbh. 😂

Upon rewatching this episode (probably because I only ever saw it as the two-parter it was split into on the dvd) I just realised that the two girls Michael takes to the party are not the same two girls him and Andy were talking to at the restaurant. I guess Michael's inability to tell asian women apart means he grabbed two random girls on his way out. The implications make this whole thing even funnier

ooh these are coming out fast! we'll get to one of my favorites before we know it lol as much as i hate the word "cringe" that christmas episode was cringe. i know michael was to blame but the waitresses just felt a little off too. like she just took off with his bike? a mess lol i loved dwight and angela's little hand-touch/hold. they can be pretty dang cute when they aren't being menaces. oh jim and pam. yes some pranks can kinda cross a line. i get it, dwight is a handful but still. i like when the pranks are more harmless fun. when they screw with his actual life, then that's where they cross the line. one thing this show does really well is realistic characters. no one is perfect and the "golden" character, everyone has their faults and flaws. i did like pam and karen teaming up together, that was so cute. i loved their interaction during the merger about pam's sweater and how easily they could have struck up a friendship there. so it's nice to see them team up (and jim's befuddled dismay lol) i did feel really bad for dwight this episode. that couple at the restaurant should have moved down so he could sit with his group. i'm all for poking fun at dwight bc he brings it on himself a ton but when it's just outright mean/bullying/singling him out, it just feels a bit much. he's been getting shit on a lot lately back to back which makes it less funny and moreso just hard to watch. but overall i liked these episodes, as cringey as they were. i'm so excited for the rest of season 3!! it'll be so much fun!
