The Americans is almost done...

What's the next long(ish) TV series to watch?

> 30 episodes.

Comments

Thanks. I loved the first two seasons but couldn't explain why when my brother asked me.

INFJ-T Tyrone

I second homeland

Light Yagami

12 Monkeys dude! I feel like Iโ€™ve been recommending it to you for forever lol

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

Fantastic acting, characters, and dialogue as well as a gorgeous setting with great cinematography. Not saying itโ€™s perfect but I love it.

Drew

I'll add Homeland to the list

Derek Lauzon

Atlanta or It's always sunny in Philadelphia would be fun!

Stefanniko

It's a great story to tell with great opportunities for villains, heroes and drama, but poor advertising hurt it bigtime.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Just too much filler at the end. The Sasuke Itachi story is going to be ripped off one day and non-Anime fans will be talking about how it's an all-time great story.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Yellowstone goes crazy

Drew

He's seen and loved the Shield.

Tyrone Tyrone

Will you be finishing Jericho.

Tyrone Tyrone

More than 30: The Shield (not the marvel thing) Shorter than 30: Patriot (Amazon Prime)

arkon

I'm curious why you like Yellowstone.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Ray Donovan. Jon Voight was GREAT. Billions. The first two seasons are 11/10 for me. Axe vs Chuck...Worth it.

Tyrone Tyrone

Counterpart could've been great but they made JK Simmons a guest star in his own show.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Tatiana Maslany is GREAT. But they drove that into the ground.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Six Feet Under ending? ๐Ÿค”Screen recorded and added to my personal highlight package. Stay out of my files๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘

INFJ-T Tyrone

Wow thanks.

INFJ-T Tyrone

completely misread that, added a few longer shows in post below, thanks!

geoff woyce

Here are are a few shows over 30 eps, Ray Donovan Billions Halt and Catch Fire Six Feet Under Yellowstone

geoff woyce

I seconded this notion, actually shocked someone mentioned it. Theres like no reactions for it which is unfortunate. Bohannon deserves recognition, such a great character.

Nathan Seminchuk

I really like some of these choices ๐Ÿ‘ but it says more than 30 episodes, not less than 30. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ninaofthe90s

American Horror Story? Hey, it's something ...

Sharkman 42

12 Monkeys. 4 seasons, 10-13 episodes a season, well-crafted and pretty widely agreed, as far as I've seen, to stay consistent throughout (no fall-off towards the end like so many shows).

TeddyBearBonfire

No one's done it that I know, Get Shorty

Alex Kingdom

24 and Chuck!

Sean

Here are few FANTASTIC shows all under 30 episodes as requested, After Life-its from Ricky Gervais, he is at his best here Counterpart - JK Simmons...enough said Horace and Pete - Louis CK, Edie Falco, Steve Buscemi, Alan Alda Mr Inbetween - very underrated/unknown Australian show about a hitman The End Of The Fucking World - freaking hilarious and will fit Jimmy's humor The Fall - Gillian Anderson hunts serial killer James Dornan The Newsroom - fast, smart, witty dialog from Aaron Sorkin The Offer - must watch for any fan of The Godfather retells producer Albert Ruddy's story of getting the movie made

geoff woyce

I would love Firefly reactions, but he specifically asked for shows with more than 30 episodes for this one.

TouchTheGarlic

Some picks other people have made which I formally lend my support to: The Good Place Community Evil Mr. Robot (S2-4) One that Iโ€™ll throw out there: Orphan Black (2013-2017), a sci-fi mystery/thriller starring Tatiana Maslany in a very impressive multi-character performance.

TouchTheGarlic

Yes I remember him mentioning Don and Roger. And the rest wasn't very interesting apparently. Which is sooo unimaginable to me. I've seen hundreds of TV shows and nothing is as good as Mad Men. Nothing. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘

Ninaofthe90s

I would love to see Evil. Jimmy reacting to Michael Emerson is always great.

TouchTheGarlic

Heโ€™s definitely talked about it before. He mentioned that he loves watching Don Draper, but gets bored when it focuses on other characters. Not sure if heโ€™s seen the entire show, though.

TouchTheGarlic

I think he is into comedies. He mentioned a few times that he has seen a lot of them. He just doesn't react to them. But comedy like Community or The Office are certainly worth it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Ninaofthe90s

The Knick is one of the few great things Steven Soderbergh did. Excellent show.

Ninaofthe90s

And it has Michael Emerson! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

Ninaofthe90s

Evil, itโ€™s super underrated but fantastic.

Drew

Yellowstone, I think youโ€™ll absolute love it.

Drew

Gomorrah- Crime/mafia Naples Italian drama, often compared to the the great US dramas of The Sopranos and Breaking Bad but it is even darker and more aggressive. A saga of Neapolitan gangland politics (different then typical mafia stuff(it's the Camorra)), it is brutal, brooding, and utterly addictive. An absolute favorite that I could not recommend more. On HBO now. Mad Men- A lot like the Sopranos in terms of character work/humor, and it very funny with some great characters. The Bureau- French Spy show, where its like the CIA except if it was like with way less resources and 10 people, which makes for higher stakes/desperation/more drama. Perhaps the smartest and most authentic feeling espionage/foreign intelligence series that travels across Europe/Middle East. Fantastic Atlanta- Really the first black surrealist show, dark humor at times Twin Peaks-The original surrealist show. If you're into David Lynch, this is him at his best. Always Sunny- For the funny and I think it is underrated in terms of its uniqueness in the comedy landscape. El Marginal- Argentinian undercover prison drama Bron/Broen/The Bridge- Original Nordic version noir crime show that works as foreign relations/mystery/cop show as well. The original (Denmark/Sweden) is the one that ran for multiple seasons and is really great, but it's been remade like 7 times by different countries including the US because the premise works so well, but those haven't/didn't run as long. Industry- Okay so it's coming back for the third season on HBO so it will be longer, but if you want great vibes, overly ambitious/complicated characters where loyalties are tested, this is the show. The perfect mix of Euphoria/Succession, it is intense, fun, wild, and gets better as it goes along.

Just When I Thought I Was Out...

Law & Order: Criminal Intent. If only for the Nicole Wallace (4 to5) episodes. And who is Nicole Wallace? The only woman who could beat Alice Morgan 1 v 1. Not including The Americans Elizabeth who would simply stab both of them in the throat.

INFJ-T Tyrone

The 60's Twilight Zone.

Tyrone Tyrone

The 80's Wiseguy. 21 episodes.

Tyrone Tyrone

I don't know if you have seen Six Feet Under, but that show has one of the best endings of all time!

Ninaofthe90s

he has reactions for Death Note as well. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Ninaofthe90s

BILLIONS. It's dated but it has at least 2 great seasons before the cancer spread and it became unwatchable.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Not much good TV left out there ongoing or old ones with a decent ending. Looks like you're going to have to go to Anime. Death Note.

INFJ-T Tyrone

he has watched Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones...he reacted to them years ago. Maybe they're still on youtube.

Ninaofthe90s

Jessica Jones fit's your algorithm. The cast alone makes it worth a try.

INFJ-T Tyrone

Snowfall definitely a winner

Ethan Durant

Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000)๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘

Tyrone Tyrone

Nathan For You (2013), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005), Veep (2012), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000), Wilfred (2011)

Sky Alderson

- 24 - Gangs of London - 12 Monkeys

Ghost St Patrick

My favorite show of all time.

Ninaofthe90s

Madmen? Pretty sure you haven't said in any content that you've watched it previously

Drenawx

just to add to someone elses comment. . community crushed all

NWar086

The office

Kevin Anand

This is the correct answer.

Michael Kang-Beats

- 24 - Community - The Tudors - The Office - Mr Robot (you haven't seen the entire show - so a rewatch for the first season?)

Ninaofthe90s

Firefly. Single season, 13 episodes with a feature movie wrap up.

John Palb

On My Block, The Magicians, 12 Monkeys (2015 tv series), The Santa Clarita Diet

Willam D

The Sinner

Brian Darty

Hell on Wheels. It's a just post civil war Western, part revenge story and part drama about building the first railroad across the country. Amazing, criminally underwatched show.

Dor

Snowfall

Brian Anthony

This might get me an absolute shitton of hate but fuck it: Naruto about 130 episodes, each episode only 20 minutes, making it the equivalent of roughly ~50 episodes of a live action show.

Username

Only shows that popped in my head are both under 30 eps. Eastbound and down & the Knick. Most premium cable shows that Iโ€™ve liked. Youโ€™ve either seen or donโ€™t have that many eps. If itโ€™s basic cable I prolly wonโ€™t be able to find anything Iโ€™d wanna rewatch thatโ€™s not a comedy and youโ€™re not into comedies much. Happy endings would be my choice if u did.

Kangdarius

- Six Feet under

Ninaofthe90s

"Tudors" - it's real history, very good acting and production. Worth watching.

Scarlett Monrow

This is live-action only? Netflix's Castlevania (32 episodes total) if no, concurring with 24 if yes.

Michael

Venture Bros. Community Arrested Development

AgentFalcon

No 30 episode series pops into my head. I'd recommend 12 Monkeys the series. It's 47 episodes. I'd also recommend Dollhouse. That's 26 episodes.

SunnydaleClassof99

You (Netflix), the last kingdom (Netflix), sex education (Netflix), handmaids tale (Hulu), the great (Hulu)

Roxy

Community The good place

Jesse Walker

really love for all mankind (itโ€™s at 30 eps rn but will be continuing later this year), halt and catch fire, (gotta think of others bc i can only seem to think of limited series atm ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ)

margo m

A man of culture

SunnydaleClassof99

I've seen The Last Kingdom and Boardwalk Empire. Arnold Rothstein is one of my fave characters ever.

Jimmy Macram

Yellowjackets S1 was great, and S2 debuts next week. About 20 episodes worth of runway.

Mike

The Last Kingdom or Gangs of London

Wezza Rogers

the office

Light Yagami

Definitely 24, at least the first two seasons.

Tim Itnyre

Boardwalk empire

mbdd

Would love to see falling skies, like no one's reacted to that however it's like 50 not 30 eps. Dead to me is great but idk if you'd like that much. Think u would like falling skies tho just to say
