creative outtakes with familiar faces :) part 1

update: just added 4 more to this post :) here are some outtakes that didn't make it to the public from my past collaborations in the month of october!! i worked on these creations with some of my dearest and most cherished life-long friends i met through REACT/FBE ♡ that is something i will always be completely grateful for.. that fbe brought into my life the most creative and talented people to befriend and work with!!

photos in order: first 6 photos are from my paid brand shoot with Michelle ♡ we were hired to shoot clothes for JC Caylen's merchandise brand called Tixxo. it's insane how popular he is lol. 3 million followers on instagram. he was actually one of the first people i ever met in LA when i was 18. 7 years later, he asked me and michelle to shoot for him!! crazy how everything comes in full circle when you don't expect it. i am actually setting up some spicy patreon exclusive shoots with michelle for this week ;) if you're here this month, lucky you!! ♡

next 3 photos are outtakes from my promo shoot with Chelsea to hype up our halloween sketch! we have been planning the promotion strategy since september. chelsea is skilled in immersive art and i asked her to post things that are provoking and that would have an immediate emotional reaction. a lot of people were DMing us very concerned about chelsea since every post she made on her instagram story was very weird and confusing and asking for my help. i would reply with lots of question marks???? and asking if she's okay?!?!? and that i've been trying to reach out to her!!! LOL. we got a lot of people very concerned. once we released we told everyone it was a sketch!! chelsea and i finally released our halloween comedy sketch together on instagram and it got 29k views collectively on both our accounts so far since we released on 10/30/2020!! to be honest, i didn't expect that many people to watch it.. like maybe 5-7k but wow... this definitely surpassed my expectations. halloween props in LA are hella expensive dude lmfao. all the props for this shoot costed almost $200 and that's not even adding the costs of photographer and edits.. shoots are more expensive than you think. i also had to scout this location as well. takes a lot of time to research and secure locations for shoots.

next 5 photos are from my harry potter inspired shoot with rachel!! she's a huuuge harry potter fan and i knew the right location to make it look like we are at a wizard school in London like in harry potter :D we took some shots with masks because we wanted to create what hogwarts would've looked like in modern day 2020 during a pandemic.

i will be posting creative outtakes part 2 to good support & up very soon!! i will also be starting to reply to all the messages tomorrow morning. thank you so much for your incredible support this month. i didn't expect to see this many people supporting me.. wow.. i am so touched by your kindness. thank you. you are my most favorite, special group of people :') i love creating for you and showing you the secret, exclusive side of me that most of the world's population would never see.

holy shit, this actually is probably the coolest shot i've ever seen you take thus far.. i love this shot so much. so captivating and thought provoking. you are on fire brett!!!

Jeannie Elise Mai

i'm 5'2... but in acting auditions i tell casting i'm 5'3'' heheh

holy shit ricky, your comment almost put me in tears :')) you believe in me so much.. wow thank you so much for your incredibly kind words.. i am so so lucky to have your support. you give me so much faith in myself ♡♡♡♡

Jeannie Elise Mai

Ooops, super late comment. I like all these, actually. Somehow I didn't even realize who Rachel was when you posted the public shots. I guess I was too focused on you :P Side note: how tall are you. Or should I say how short? Even your sneakers are platform shoes. I've never noticed that before, either. My eye for detail is failing me :o

once again, amazing set of pictures. You and Michelle work well together visually as a pairing: you with natural hair and Michelle with a crazy color (which she always pulls off effortlessly which not everyone can). Chelsea - another amazing person, i try to catch her twitch streams when i can but isn't easy with the 8hr time difference. Rachel another one of my faves from FBE back in the day. So glad that so many awesome people got the opportunity to meet you Jeannie, you are the star that will outshine them all. I will immortalize my prediction here for you to remember it: Oscars 2030 best actress winner Jeannie Elise Mai #MaiSquad4ever

These are super interesting Jeannie! Thanks for sharing them. And believe me... I know how expensive shoots can be... Oh, do I have stories about that. LOL But I do find it is always worth it when you get the images you really want. Your body paint post reminded me of something. I'm working on a weird thing right now I have always wanted to try. Laying an oil painting over a model's skin. Different approach to a similar goal. Here is a work in progress shot to give you an idea. :) https://1drv.ms/u/s!Age5gIHH9vKOlp0Sj38eLUUqWh7S4g

i always love hearing your thoughts jogvan :) it's interesting to me that you find my wizard photos stand out most because of the masks. heheh also holding a magic wand does make me feel very powerful hehe :D

Jeannie Elise Mai

Very nice collection of varied, colourful and interesting photos. There is a lot going on both visually and in terms of storytelling or hints of storytelling. I think the ones with you and Rachel will stand out in retrospect because of the masks. Because this whole covid situation won't be forever. By the way, you look sort of mischievous with that magic wond!

awh i'm so so glad you appreciate my art and the process behind it mark :)

Jeannie Elise Mai

Thank you for sharing! I always love seeing behind the scenes and getting the stories of how things are created.
