All art postings on my public instagram and twitter are on pause right now due to the movement happening. so now, only my special patrons will get to see what I cooked up for my birthday content ♡〜٩(^▿^)۶〜♡ I got lots in store!! Lots of content for all tiers.. I'm most excited for my highest tiers though, even on my birthday I was thinking of making content for y'all ... hehe ;) more info for you coming soon. The photo posted above is from my 25th birthday bubble bath shoot that I will not be sharing anytime soon on my social media. Hopefully when more change happens & tensions die down, I will be able to post art again for the public, but for now, only you will see my newest creations :) I posted something on my instagram for my birthday, which was more a call to action to help bring justice to Breonna Taylor and sharing a video of African drumming music, which I was jamming hard all last night to.
Anyway, I actually participated in a protest this week!! It was so peaceful. Even the cops were protecting us and allowing us to take up the entire street to protest, while walking into traffic. It's amazing to see the progress and change that has happened so far with the movement. There was so much love, compassion, and unity at this protest. Mainly younger people, but all ages and cultures were walking together in unison in optimism of a better future. The energy there was electric. I feel even more empowered and purposeful. I know I am privileged and want to use it to for the better. I love this movement because it's making everyone step out of their narcissism and start talking about things that matter. Even if we disagree, an uncomfortable conversation is the first step to progress. I've been having so many difficult talks lately with my friends who have different points of view. I have some friends who live in Texas who view Black Lives Matters so differently than us here is California. I've been discussing and challenging those in my inner circle on their beliefs. I've been listening and learning from all sides of the coin. I believe in the power of hearing all arguments and not to be persuaded extremely by one narrative. This week has brought me to such a new place mentally. A place where I've never been before. It's exciting but scary. It's always scary to do the difficult thing, but it is what is necessary right now. I love hearing different points of view and I will never judge you, so please let's discuss together!! Hopefully you all know now that this is a safe space for every one to speak and we will listen and hopefully learn from each other.
To be completely honest, I cried my eyes out last night. My eyes are so puffy. Birthdays make me so emotional and contemplative. This birthday is the most meaningful yet. It was the most selfless birthday. I was signing petitions, protesting peacefully even in this pandemic, donating to organizations I support, and reflecting how I can do more to be better, and to use my privilege responsibly. I even spent it thinking about creating art for you, my patrons ♡♡
Thank you for all who are here to celebrate my birthday with me. I am SO STOKED to share my birthday content with you, who actually support me. I am so lucky to be sharing the planet with you at the same time. ⤠I still haven't created an amazon wishlist yet.. for some reason I feel guilty for making things about me in this tense climate in the world. Thank you to Ricky and Kristjan for your incredibly kind birthday gifts to me.. I was so touched to see your gifts.. It feels good that while I'm advocating for others, I have people who truly care about me, checking in with me. I love you all so much. Thank you for making this birthday the most important one yet.
As always, please help my engagement by giving this post a like, if you can. ♡
For anyone wanting to just because, my paypal is jeanniemai@ymail.com or venmo is @jeanxmai ♥ Thank you so much for making my birthday so special :')
