new photos from my latest shoot (no one has seen them but you) pt. 1

This month i am signing up at the famous Groundlings for comedy improv training and studying at Marjorie Ballentine's studio to study the famous Stella Adler technique. in the past, i've only had mainly Meisner technique for acting, so i'm SO excited to start learning a new different approach to acting. Marjorie has had first hand training from the queen of acting Stella Adler, who created a famous acting technique that all major working actors take inspiration from.. The classes are a bit expensive.. Groundlings cost $525 for a session which is once a week classes and Marjorie's studio is $300 a month for once a week training. I've had a shit pilot season and been feeling stagnant with my work lately :/ i cannot wait to further develop my craft and sharpen my skills to create memorable interesting performances for my future work. Gotta invest in my education and myself. It is a hella huge chunk of money to train at these prestigious institutions because so many big actors have trained there, so i am asking for some help for my education. if it's possible for you to send any kind of help, my venmo is @jeanxmai / paypal is jeanniemai@ymail.com ; or go up a tier on patreon. thank you so much in advance to those who are willing to help me out.

i will be continuing skype calls and planning a fun live stream with you all for this month. thank you for the continued love & support fam. you have no idea how much drive and purpose y'all give me xoxo

You will love the Groundlings Improv workshops... during a particularly bleak time in my life, losing much after I turned 50, I finally acted on that wish I had for decades. It was a great experience -- I recall having to park in neighborhoods, and walk a bit from the north down towards Melrose. At one point, there was a lovely tiny house somewhere near Las Palmas and Willoughby, where a wooden fence that bordered the home was crawling with the vines of the sweetest Jasmine I have ever experienced. A serendipitous moment where two experiences crossed paths -- to fulfill my dream of doing improv with perhaps the best improv group -- LA's own Second City, and to take in the sunset and the perfume of Jasmine tended so well by clearly someone who loved life in the midst of a town often cloaked by artifice. This was around 2010, and still, to this day, that intersection of two themes remains crystalline. Continue this journey of yours -- the future will smile back at you and give you a great sense of pride and peaceful remembrances of your own self and how you dared to dream and dreamed to live life on your own terms. :)

Keep at it. Invest in your craft and your skill. If it were easy everyone would be acting. And not just like my weird short film I showed you. I have been getting some unfinished business over and done with lately and have passed all my exams and learning new stuff. Keep calm and carry on. p.s. We just got our first Corona virus patient today in the Faroes. So everyone is a bit nervous, but I hope you are allright

stunning photo Jeannie, I hope that you get what you need from the classes. I can't say that I have a clue regards different techniques for acting, i'm not really the creative kind tbh. Don't be scared to invest in your future, sorry to hear that pilot season didn't go as well as you would have liked. Never give up, keep going, there are so many people here and in your life that believe in you. You WILL achieve greatness, it is just a matter of time
