bare canvas part 2 . . .

dave the rainbow has been one of my closest friends since i met him in college. he is a traveling artist whose worked at many music festivals hosting psychedelic black light dance/tea parties and has shown his work all over the united states! he has been a huge influence on me spiritually and opened up a whole new universe when i was a freshman/sophomore in college. he would host poetry nights where he would cook dinner for the community and serve us while we share original poetry we wrote or read a passage from our favorite poems. his community was the first time i ever felt like home. before i met him, i was hanging out with the toxic greek life sororities and frats. they always made me drink more than i could handle. the peer pressure was so toxic. they also always made me feel bad about myself and spread false rumors about me fucking all these guys so these guys would look so cool to their frats. so many lies were being said about me and it was truly a heartbreaking experience to know that everyone in my environment wasn't there for my best interest and wanted to bring me down. then i met dave and i completely tapped in to my highest self and evolved rapidly after meeting him. i was painting, doing yoga, creating art, experimenting with my voice for music and poetry, and started writing original music. he seriously changed my life and i can't thank him enough for showing me a brighter path.
