1.8.2 & 1.8.3 - Bugfix Patch Notes

No good deed goes unpunished. Fortunately, we're into that.

1.8.x. has quite a few bugfixes.  If you are playing offline, you will need to re-download the HTML file and reload it.  If you are playing online, just refresh your page.  

This may impact your save-games.  Keep reading, sweethearts.

1.8.3:

• More typos
• Informed Lazren that she shouldn't call you 'daughter' when you're male.
• Took a course on investment banking (fixed serious error with 'Dividends' mode)
• Restored proper space/time continuum in Elysium.  Working there now advances time normally.
• Patched in a missing variable for banked Energy bonus
• Restored the character customization "quick access" link in the left pane, which somehow mysteriously disappeared between 1.8.1 and 1.8.2.  *cough*Cambion*cough*
  

1.8.2:

• Corrected an issue which caused the Casino show a whole lot of 0s and 'NaN's.
• You should now be able to change your necklace facing properly in Chapter 1
• Corrected a repeating line in Mason's question panes that wasn't supposed to be there.
• Corrected several small typos

Save Game Impact:

In changing from 1.7.0 to 1.8.0, we renamed the game from Paradise Heights to Paradise Inc.  While we knew that the mechanical changes between the two versions would make previous saves incompatible, we didn't know (and it wasn't documented) that any 'rename' of the game file breaks previous saves.  Specifically:  they disappear from the saved-game list, and cannot be loaded via 'Import from Disk'.

The game was already renamed on 1.8.0, but somewhere between 1.8.1 and 1.8.2 we had a version error which, among other things, ended up with the Paradise Heights file in some places, and the Paradise Inc. file in other places.  We've corrected this, but it means that ultimately someone, somewhere is going to lose their save files, depending on exactly when and where they were playing during our screw up.

Since the intention was indeed to change fully over to Paradise Inc, we will be maintaining that version and have corrected it across all platforms.  Unfortunately, if you are one of those people hit by the mix-up, you may find your list of saved games to be blank.
