Oakspell

Oakspell

In pagan times, certain trees were considered sacred and treated as deities. This was especially true for ancient oaks. Although few people worship them today, a sense of magic still lingers around them. That’s why they attract various forest creatures – such as the błędnice. These beings hide in hollowed-out trunks of giant trees, lined with moss and ferns, where the...

Dziewonia - guardian of trees

Dziewonia - guardian of trees

"The forest has countless guardians, and every person who enters among the trees is always watched by many pairs of eyes. The Dziewonie are beings who dwell in the canopies of the tallest trees. They care for them and protect them from being cut down. Their presence is marked by strange signs and symbols left on tree trunks as warnings. And woe to anyone who ignores them, for the Dz...

The Village Beyond the Veil

The Village Beyond the Veil

Deep in a forgotten forest lies Wyrm Hollow—a village invisible to all but witches.

It appears only when called, hidden from mortal eyes by ancient magic. Trees part, fog lifts, and a mossy path unfolds only for those with the Sight.

When Eira, a young witch, fled a world that feared her, the Hollow appeared. Lanterns glowed with foxfire, elders smiled without...

Figure of Absence

Figure of Absence

This whole set was inspired by a painter I admire a lot - Zdzisław Beksiński. In one of his paintings titled "Pełzająca śmierć" (although he rarely titled his own work) he created a creature with a head covered in bandages. I remember learning about this painting during art class in middle school. It was very different from the other paintings we discussed and I think that's why I remembe...

Motanka

This photoshoot was inspired by slavic motanka. I also made a backstage video that will be available shortly.

In traditional culture, motanie (thread winding) was an activity performed by women, one of the tasks associated with spinning and creating thread, which was then wound into an orderly form called a skein. Threads symbolized the path of life, fate, "a...

Kupala Night Promise

Kupala Night Promise

On Kupala Night, under a sky of stars and smoke, Mara and Yarilo stood by the river, wreaths in their hands. They had grown up together, their bond as steady as the current—but tonight, tradition tested it.

“If our wreaths float side by side,” Mara whispered, “we're meant to be.”

They released them into the water. The wreaths drifted, tangled, then spun apart.<...

Hey! I got a lot of questions about this tutorial and since it's a very simple edit I wanted to share that with you. It's actually the first time I used this technique so I am not a pro but I think it looks quite interesting.

Baba Yaga's Hollow

Baba Yaga's Hollow

Once, Baba Yaga lived at the edge of a village. She healed the sick, whispered to crows, and knew the names of every herb. But when crops failed and storms came, the villagers blamed her.

“Leave,” they said. “Your magic brings misfortune.”

So she packed her things and vanished into the mountains, finding a cave where moss grew thick and silence ran deep.

Fading Into Light

For some time I had this idea in my head. In this vision a pale, almost glowing lady is standing in a really dark and creepy forest and her face is melting into the light. Unfortunately as I mentioned earlier the past days were really hot and full of sunshine so I wanted to practice this effect in my home.

Please let me know if you like this idea and if it's worth exploring more?...

Hello!

For the last few days it was really hot in Poland (over 36°C) and it was almost impossible to do some moody photoshoots where I am. I also planned to do a beautiful serias in water with a lot of water grass. Unfortunately the closest rivers are almost dried out and Polish main river - Vistula - has record low water level. In Warsaw it was ONLY 19 cm!!!

Footage Recovered – Subject Unknown

I wanted to do a "found footage" type of photoshoot for such a long time. My first attempt of this type of photography was last year when I did a werewolf photoshoot with wooden symbols similar to some from the Blair Witch Project. Do you remember this post?

Shortly after that photoshoot I went to this exact place from today's post. Unfortunately my flashlight was too weak for this locati...

Lady of the Lake

I had this photoshoot in mind for such a long time I can't even remember. The light conditions were really harsh and I wish I had something to lighten my face a bit but I am loving this photoshoot after all and I am so happy I could find the perfect place.

It was obviously inspired by the Lady of the Lake but there's a bit of Rusalka here as well.

I am really curious which frame is ...

The Pale Lady

The Pale Lady

Yarra Castle lay in ruins, its towers broken and walls smothered in ivy. Beneath it, in a maze of caves, lived something ancient — a demon called the Pale Lady.

She looked like a woman, but wrong: too tall, too still, skin like candle wax, and eyes that never blinked. Her voice could mimic anyone you’d ever loved.

Geralt went seeking her. His sister was dying, and th...

I had this idea in mind to portray a motanka - slavic doll without a face (sometimes people put red cross there so that's why my mask looks this way) but I will tell you more about it in my future post because I definietly want to try this idea again. I also thought that it would look really pretty in a field of poppies, so that's why I was looking for them for some time. Unfortunately I didn't...

The Hanging Curse

The Hanging Curse

In a forgotten village, five boys dared each other to visit the woods where old witch lived. They crept into her house at night, tied her up with rope, and hung her from the roof of her barn. Her eyes never left theirs, even as the life drained from her.

They laughed as they ran, breathless with thrill, back to their homes. But the laughter didn’t last long.
