Timelapsed capture of the concept painting I did for Veles, the Slavic god of underworld, that only had a brief cameo in the comic so far, but will come into play later in the story.
Finished work can be found here.
Keen eyed people may notice a wee bit of a spoiler.

When she was little, Sara was often confused about the curious sideways glances she attracted.

Blast from the past - growing up in the eighties, Vartan was the annoying kind of bratty half-pint that smashes other people's windows, pokes holes in their car tyres and tramples their daisies...
Glad he grew out of that one.

Not every creature in the world had the luxury to evolve into an anthro. Well, at least they remained adorable.

Full cover for the purple prose romance novel Norbert bought at the Leeds-Bradford airport. It tells the heartwarming, yet horribly written tale of the forbidden love between Jacqueline, maid so humble, noble and fair others liken her beauty to that of a unicorn, and Jack Thunder, a rogue pirate lion with dark mane and southern charm who ends up washed ashore one nameless sea that may also be a la...

Colby as a... what was she, anyway, a kitten? A colt? A cub?

I occassionally indulge myself in some goofy fun and "what if..." scenarios. This one in particular has been festering in my mind ever since I introduced Colby as the hybrid. What if she weren't present? What if Vartan & Sara ended up with a hybrid child instead? What would it look like?
Considering his heritage, he'd be one gigantic beast, inheriting his mother's botched (ligers are big for...

Colby, under Lothar's influence, grew to be a popculture geek and avid gamer. So when I was looking for some props to give Colby as a background detail, it was easy enough to just look to my left into my own shelf.
Drawn from Doug Mahnke's original cover for the InFAMOUS tie-in comic book.

Original concept sketch for Tessa, the squirrel wrench wench of the team (well... former wrench wench, anyway).
When we decided to work with an established team rather than lose time with all that "coming together" hassle, we logically had to tackle the founding members, and figure out why aren't they around anymore. It was a fun collaborating experience as far as creative synnergy g...

Lothar's clothing (not just in this episode, but in general) draws most of its influence from America's golden youth. Being raised the way he was, heir apparent of a wealthy industrialist, he's been trained for neat, higher-class style to and keep up appearances since his earliest years. Still, as someone barely out of his teens, he keeps things proper, but ultimately informal. Perfect to blend in...

Ginny was the toughest nut to crack in this case. For the "casual" dress, I had to attempt to find a style that fits multiple purposes – it had to fit Ginny's personality and choice, it had to be relevant to the environment she's blending into (she's been in Egypt for the past three months for this particular mission) and at the same time, it had to be just that tiny bit exotic, so she would ful...

When designing outfits for Lambert, I always try to keep in mind his origin. I imagine his choice of clothing being not concsiously looking like something that just got out of a Renaissance fair, but rather subconsciously taking clothes and styles he's grown up around and is familiar with.
And of course, loose necklines being a must, because those horns are a nightmare.
