Boarding the pilot was an absolute joy, from start to finish. Writing + boarding are, without fail, the most fun parts of the process for me. I also enjoy animating but it's still very challenging, I haven't done it enough to get to that fun stage, if you know what I mean.

Bridge City Sinners - Illust

Taking a little bit of a break from KOG-posting to show a more hires version of this commission I had the honor to do for one of my favorite bands of all time - The Bridge City Sinners!

Early Andi, and an early Gwen, when she was quite a bit shorter and sporting some fluffier short hair. I always thought that style was cute but for her official Princess design it didn't fit with the other-worldly, cartoonish monarch we were striving for. KOG dev - old Frankie run cycle

Before her design was finalized (when she still had her teeth!) I just had the urge to do this run cycle. Not the most exciting thing in the world but I wanted to see her in motion.

More dev!!! Figuring out Andi’s style outside of her work clothes (just for fun), the first drawings of the two as kids, and one SUPER early concept of what buildings may look like in Frankie and Andi’s neighborhood. I mix of cheap building material, shoddy structure, and fallen statues from the Park. Then Amber and their BG team improved upon all that to what you saw in the pilot. :]

Visdev for the security guards before the final design went to our amazing designer Daun Han, and some sketches for what eventually became the acrylic standees. I've said it before but I'll say it again, it was so fun to be included in the design of the merch! Just the consideration to be asked if something is on model or if I have any ideas makes all this stuff a little extra special.

These were drawn before our partnership with Glitch, exploring the characters, exploring the design sense we wanted to go with. Obviously they look a little different now, but we were only a couple iterations from their final designs.

One thing I'm super proud of is getting to design the actual logo for KOG! It's not something I've ever done so I remember looking at so many swirly fonts, doing so many crappy versions in my sketchbook, and then finally just taking the plunge and drawing the black and white draft you see above w some sloppy bucket fills.
