Wild Era 3, Ch 6: Tablet of Ash

The dungeon’s wrath approached in a flood of undead.

There were dozens of wights with long arms and other more dangerous things bounding across the stones and leaping over the fallen buildings.

Kelin analyzed them, but only enough to assess the threat level.

Besides the wights, there were more undead knights, some pale wraiths that floated across the ground, dark...

A fun update for you.

I’ve signed the first three Aster Fall novels with Aethon for traditional print distribution.

Aethon is starting to do some print runs for hardcover LitRPG, distributed through Simon and Schuster to main book stores, and these will be in the middle of that in a year or so from now.

The idea is trad-style print releases, hardcovers in Barnes and Noble an...

Wild Era 3, Ch 5: The Ashen Halls

You have entered The Ashen Halls.

The voice of the Path rang in Kelin’s mind as he appeared on the other side of the portal. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he strengthened his mana shield and looked around.

The dungeon stretched out in rows of rolling dark grey hills and tumbled stone ruins, extending for miles into the distance where it blended wit...

Wild Era 3, Ch 4: Choices

The evening passed in pleasant crafting in the hall as Kelin replaced some of the talismans he’d used up.

He’d made several hundred shielding and infusion talismans specifically for the duel and he still had quite a few, but it wasn’t possible to have too many. Even with several hundred of each type, they would eventually run out, so it was far from enough.

It was also good pr...

Kelin’s Map. Add a Name!

Kelin’s Map. Add a Name!

My map artist, Cartographybird, just made a draft of the World of Lareth, focusing on Celadon and surrounding kingdoms.

I’ve added the draft and a quick photo of the map where I have been scribbling ideas.

I want to throw out an offer here to suggest a name for a city or someplace on the map that has not been filled in yet.

Sarathia and Baralis, for example, are mostly blan...

Wild Era 3, Ch 3: Noble Banquet

As Kelin carted the kids back to their room, Yao and Naomi were mumbling.

“You weren’t just an archmage,” Yao said drowsily. “You were like the highest archmage...”

“Lord of Wildfire,” Naomi agreed happily before she hiccupped.

“Not the highest in everything.” Kelin said, feeling amused as he shook his head. “I was known for Soul magic and some for Fire.&nb...

Wild Era 3, Ch 2: Truth and Toast

Kelin had told Sandren who he was and that he’d been reborn.

He’d also told his apprentices that he had memories of a past life, but not all of the truth.

Now that he had the backing of the Sovereign and the Silver Nagas, he was confident in explaining the rest.

It wasn’t something that needed to be spread around too much, but it no longer needed to be hidden from his cl...

Wild Era 3, Ch 1: Herald's Departure

“Rise quickly, Kelin Wildfire. You are needed.”

The words rang in Kelin’s ears with echoing force and a sense of timeless power, voiced by the Herald of the Silver Lord he was speaking to.

The Herald’s name was Sleset.

He was a Silver Naga, one of the most faithful followers of the Sovereign of Silver Chaos. He was also Level 720 and an old friend of Kelin’s, at leas...

Wild Era 2, Ch 38: Herald's Verdict

Kelin looked down at Verasun’s lifeless body and shook his head.

The baron’s strength had always been in plotting and using others to do his dirty work.

With everything external stripped away, he wasn’t much, just an average Second Evolution fighter.

Like a turtle outside of its shell.

More importantly, the duel had been won long before they stepped ont...

Wild Era 2, Ch 37: Duel

As time resumed, some people screamed at the sight of the Herald standing there, towering above everyone else.

Others were simply frozen in shock.

It was a natural reaction to seeing an Immortal descend, especially when that Immortal was a Silver Naga.

“Let the two combatants step forward,” Sleset hissed, his voice carrying across everything. “In the name of the Si...

Wild Era 2, Ch 36: Herald of the Sovereign

The duel was set at the main arena in Highmist, one that was normally overseen by the city lord’s palace.

When Kelin and Sandren arrived, a massive crowd had ...

Wild Era 2, Ch 35: Truth

Kelin arrived at the gates of Highmist an hour before dawn, appearing like a shadow at the border of the city.

He let the Shadow Walk spell fade from around him and flashed his badge as he walked through the gates.

Now that he was back in the city, he no longer needed to concern himself with whether Verasun would try to ambush him ahead of time.

He heard the guards at th...

Wild Era 2, Ch 34: Ascent

After looting all of the monsters, it took Kelin about an hour of walking along the plateau before he found another good spot.

It was an untouched area that was teeming with monster soul signatures, one near the center of the dungeon.

He let out a shout of mana and soul energy that stirred everything within range and ten minutes later, it was a field of scattered corpses as Wildfire...

Wild Era 2, Ch 33: Wildfire

As Kelin ran across the plains toward the dungeon entrance, he considered what he’d learned while talking to Sandren.

Among other things, she had told him the trade plan against Verasun was being delayed. The guild council had decided to study the potential impact for longer before authorizing it.

Based on the rumors, it was due to Whitestar’s interference.

“You’re a Knight of the Path?” Sandren’s eyes widened as she saw the badge.

She instantly identified the unique patterns on it, as Kelin had expected.

“When? And how?” she continued. “You were only Steel-ranked when you left. That’s two tiers higher! It even outranks Gold by a bit.”

“Since Shadowfall,” Kelin replied. “It was a True Remnant.”

Wild Era 2, Ch 31: Heads for the Baron

Verasun’s expression was a mask of cold fury as he looked down at the three heads on the table.

It had been two hours since they’d appeared in the city, but they’d only now been brought to him. It had taken a Level 180 mage to break the enchantments that held them in place in front of his doors.

His regular guards had tried to remove them and they had all failed. A mage he had...

Wild Era 2, Ch 30: Gifts

When they reached Highmist, Kelin led the way to the guild shops.

He had the heads of the Wind Hunters stored in a spare spatial bag, but he needed a few things to make his plan effective.

The team dumped out all of their gains on the counter, which made the clerk grumble at the work, but before long they sold off everything unnecessary.

There was a lot of loot from the dungeo...

Humor Chapter: LitRPG Con was LIT, Isekai, Chapter 1

First, an intro to this idea. There was a fire at the hotel for LitRPG Con in Denver. Everyone's fine, but it woke us up on Saturday night, the hotel was full of smoke, and we stood outside for like 3 hours. Apparently a light bulb burst in a linen closet on Floor 27, which then caught everything on fire.

This obviously put the LIT in LitRPG, and jokes ensued.

Shawn Wilson (of Ultim...

Kelin tossed his sigil into the air and drew a ward circle with a quick swing of his staff.

The man who was speaking was a burly fighter with a narrow and pointe...

Free Month Update

It seems like folks who are currently on a free membership cannot claim the gift code while I have billing paused (which is how I was trying to give current members a free month).

Patron is making it hard for me to give stuff away!

So I will pause billing for a month after the gift code link expires on Monday.
