That is 8 riverine trees now set down...with gorgeous autumn colours on top of that. 4 white and 4 black poplars.

That takes us over to half the alloted sprite budget! Wow I need to conserve plants. We need nettles, driftwood, willows, alders and one elder. Might add an extra reed or a mossy rock?

Rivers of Betony

So. Easing myself back into the river work, as suggested by Carademono, to just complete the islands as they make up for a whole finished areas. Betony was the first, it features gently rolling hills and was made with Betony restored in mind.

Anyway. Balfiera will be next, and that chain of islands is montane and will feature more rugged terrain than these idylic hills.

Given that I'm currently working on this that are not quite for me to share on Patreon, I do want to at least let people know where we're at in the moment.

I'm slowly preparing to resume work on rivers in WoD, this also means sculpting the heightmap of the surrounding terrain. The work is tedious and daunting. So expect pictures of gorgeous rivers going forward.

DET 1.0.0 is finally out

And so the update cycle stops for now. DET 1.0.0 is out and hopefully there will be no more headache for me!

I get to outsource theh headache to other modders now as they migrate over to 1.0.0. I don't think this will be anytime soon, but if you are a modder, please update to 1.0.0 asap.

0.9.0 now exists for unupdated mods.

Anything else new on the horizon? We will see!

A lot of mods depend on DET being consistant, no changes means nothing breaks, right? Now imagine an oversight causes issues you might not be able to pin down exactly.

I know the influx of updates is 'massive', but it's a spur I cannot stop untill the new DET is out. Furniture, clothes lines, new animals, new riding sprites, new folliage, all new animations, NPCs and portraits...it's so much.

In April, expect a more 'normal' update schedule as spurs aren't sustainable but sure are fun from time to time.

Duck duck...goose!

Apparently geese don't have that many colour variants, mostly just weight classess, huh!

Anyway. For now there are three colour variants, white, splotchy and wild-type coloured. They're all recolours of eachother and the pecking geese are animated. Goslings come in gray and yellow.

As I said, a highlander inspired cow! You can see a little overlap with a bull from my default brown cattle sprites. They're similair in size, but that much more cutter.

I decided for a roan colouration for them, which means some will be white, some will be red, others will be roan. We've got two bull sprites with the really long horns and three cows and three calves for each colour.

I could do a few more variants, ATM the belted alcaire cow has the most variants, but it also has a lot more colour variation (red, brown and black) These are just black and brown.

Might just need a black bull to go with 2 black cows and 2 brown cows and 1 brown calf and one black calf!

I call it the 'Northmoon Framed'.

I call the native cattle of daggerfall (the game comes with) brown miniature cattle (let's be real, they're kinda tiny cows). But the other cattle breed made up, Alcaire belted, more so signify the pattern.

I'm featuring the first iteration. I had to do massive reworks on the shoulders and hips to get the topology nice and tidy. Messing around with hte horns wasn't all so bad.

F3DA back in the works

Just a small public preview, but I'm gonna ease myself back into 3D modelling by revamping many of the F3DA models and reanimating them to be much smoother and lively.

First step for kitty was increasing the polycount on the face, paws and tail.

The paws also offer better articulation now, so they bend better at the joints. The tail also looks less low-poly when bent.
