We met Nala about five years ago. She had completely shaved her head while on an epic hike, maybe the John Muir Trail. Her hair had grown out a bit when we met, and she has continued to let it grow. These days she has a luxuriant head of long black hair. This large format portrait is from the summer of 2013.

We only worked once with Christelle. This was also one of the last shoots that happened at this place that we called the 'Little House'. The light in this spot, provided entirely through these wooden 'venetian' blinds that you can see in the photo, was quite alluring.

We posted a cropped version of this photo on Instagram yesterday. The photo was made a few years ago on the beach in Montauk, NY. Shot on film. For anyone interested, our film choice for many years has been Ilford HP5+ for both roll film and sheet film. We feel lucky that it is still available.
