Hannah, 2009

Hannah, 2009

A large format 8x10 portrait of Hannah from the Barn Series. For a few years we lived on a farm in upstate New York. This 18th century Dutch barn was on the property. Many of our Barn Series images were made in this building.

As a reminder, 8x10 contact prints of our large format negatives are available to our patrons. If you are interested in a print of any of the 8x10 images we post, drop us a...

A Simple White Vest

A Simple White Vest

This is a photograph made on film of Hannah in 2009. This image is a scan from an 8x10" archival darkroom print.

Our usual gallery price for such a print is $150. If any one of our patrons would like to purchase it, we would lower the price to $75 with free shipping. It is very beautiful in person, warm tone on semi matte paper. Printed by us, of course, and mounted, dated, signed and watermarke...

Peaches 1 - a Miniset

Peaches 1 - a Miniset

We will experiment with something new today. Whether we continue to post this type of work will depend on the feedback we get from you, our Patrons.

'Peach' is the euphemism we use (not invented by us) for the distinctly female parts. We hope our photographs of Peaches retain the tasteful style for which we have become known. Let us know if you want to see more of this type of work here on Patre...

Nettie in the Gallery Window

We may have mentioned this before, we are in the process of updating our website. It's a long time coming but we think it will be worth the wait. It's a whole new look for us.

This Polaroid of Nettie Harris was made in the window of our former gallery in Woodstock. It might be included on the website. We are still making final image selections. We will post a link to the site when it is up...

Spanish Moss

Spanish Moss

Here's a more PG-13 version of the image we posted a few moments ago for the higher tiers. Our recent work with Katlyn will probably show up as a miniset in the next few days. Did you know that Spanish Moss is not actually moss? It is a member of the bromeliad family. Actually a flowering plant. And it is widely thought to be a parasite, and damaging to the trees on which it hangs, but it is not.&...

The always delightful Melissa Troutt. We have worked a lot with Melissa, and count her among our close friends. This old stone farmhouse provided the backdrop for a number of our favorite photos.

Sekaa on the Porch

Sekaa on the Porch

Here is this week's miniset for the $25 and above tiers. These photos were made on the same afternoon as the previous miniset we posted, but were shot earlier in the day, and obviously, outside. This porch provides abundant light, and an interesting, somewhat abstract backdrop for the photos.

Sekaa in Afternoon Light

As promised, here is this week's miniset for the $15 and above tiers.

We spent a gentle afternoon with Sekaa recently and made a lovely collection of photographs. This interior set, in waning afternoon light, captures the sculptural beauty of Sekaa. A miniset from the same day, Sekaa on the Porch, will be posted for the $25 and above tiers.

Some of our shoots are done for personal reasons, or by request, but the work is meaningful enough to become part of our catalog. This young woman was the daughter of a friend, and we had a most delightful day creating some beautiful and romantic images.

Katlyn

There is really no other model quite like Katlyn Lacoste. She just has such a distinctive style and way of posing. And she is quite a delight to work with. We had the pleasure of spending a few hours with her last week. It was the first time in seven years we have made photographs together. Here she is melding beautifully with an ancient holly tree.

Kelsey Dylan and Ana Ivanova

Kelsey Dylan and Ana Ivanova

From a fun shoot back in 2014, Kelsey and Ana sprawling on the bed illuminated by afternoon window light. In the interest of full disclosure, this is an iPhone shot. We made a lovely video with Kelsey dancing as Ana played her harp. Kelsey is a little reluctant to have video of herself posted, but maybe we will post a couple of stills of the session. It was a lovely moment.

Romahni Rose

Romahni Rose

Sometimes a simple reclining nude can be very refreshing. We've been in a 'dark' stage artistically for the last few years, and it continues even still. But sometimes a more high key approach to a subject is called for. It is unusual for us to hang up a backdrop to make a shot, but in this case we did. Insider tip: it's really just a big bed sheet.

Pixieset?

Hi from Photosensualis headquarters. We have posted the last two or three minisets for the higher tiers on Pixieset. Is that a good experience? If you have any thoughts about our using Pixieset in this way, positive or negative, do let us know. You should be able to download the images from there, and it is a much more pleasing presentation, we think, than Dropbox, but we want to know what you thi...

Figure Study - Hana Rose

The timeless beauty of Hana Rose. This image was made in the Catskills on the same day as the waterfall image posted a day or two ago. It is a simple scene, but is is made lovely by the quality of the light bouncing onto Hana from outside the photo framing. The intention of the day was waterfall photos, and we made some lovely ones, but it is always worthwhile to take a look around and see where t...
