Introducing: Questions from the Legion
Added 2019-09-16 19:15:00 +0000 UTCWe have been thinking of ways to better involve the supporters of the show for a long time. We thought of shout outs, but everyone does those. We had so much fun doing our yearly Q&As we thought we would introduce something like that.
So now every week (assuming there is questions asked) we will pick one question and answer it on the show. Nothing deep or meaningful though because we don't want to take away from the show you all wanted to support in the first place.
Do you have a question that can be answered in about 5 minutes? Drop it in this thread or send it to us in a DM and get it answered on the show.

We will answer this on air, but I feel like I should give a more in-depth answer here. I don't feel like one has to "reconcile" with someone who wants to join. enlisting in the military is not inherently a bad thing, though it can be. It doesn't make anyone a bad person, their intentions and motivations depending of course. I think they need a realistic idea of the military that they won't get from a recruiter. Such as pick a job that will help you when you get out. Nobody is hiring tank crewman. Learn a skill, get your GI Bill, and get the fuck out. The military can and will ask you to sacrifice everything to include your own life. It should be your goal to make the military work for you. But know that it is a losing competition. The military will always win, even if you're smart enough to get a good job and use our free time and TA to go to school while you're in. But, YOU absolutely have to make it worth it, because the military doesn't give a fuck about you.

2019-09-16 21:41:26 +0000 UTCQ. Was Rich one of the soldiers in Hooligans? Joe and Rich have mentioned deploying to Afghanistan together in passing on the show, so it got me wondering. *I read Hooligans before finding the podcast, and I don’t remember seeing her name, granted I didn’t go back to double check.
