We have a new amazing model this month! I have to admit, I was a bit star struck to work with Liv, I think Liv is the biggest name out there in the traveling model community and she's so wonderful to work with, I think she's absolutely incredible. I've followed her account (A Small Woman) for as long as I can remember. Make sure to check out her account and give her a follow. Liv's Instagram- Liv

Hey Levi, those are great comments! I haven’t made a post about my technical approach to shooting yet. That’s something I might include at some point up coming. I also started shooting models I knew from local drawing groups for my own reference. Most of these models agreed to pose because I had a contract that stated the reference was not to be shared. Some were fine with sharing and I started my Patreon from those that were fine with it. With all models I share currently I state up front what my goals are with the images and I do use a written model/photographer contract. I think you have the right approach, to work with models you know via life drawing. I think it’s important to have a written contract stating what the images will be used for ie sharing or just your personal reference. Best of luck with your endeavors and let me know if you have any questions -Bryce

Hi Bryce, thanks for the access to all your photo references, it's really cool that you do that. I've got a question I've been wanting to throw your way for a while and it's about your practice in terms of shooting models for reference. Have you made a post in the past discussing this at all? Not only in terms of equipment and technical aspects, but also in how you approach the shoot itself in terms of preparation and working with a model, especially someone new you may only just met or don't know as well. Also, how do you approach the models about showing their photos to others or allowing others to use them? Is this in a contract of some kind or just simply asking their permission? I ask because I'm going to start doing this myself soon. I'm lucky enough that my wife has run a figure drawing group for over a decade and through that I've become friends with quite a few of our models who are willing to let me photograph them for both reference but also more artistic photography shoots as well. I've never done this so I'm shooting from the hip so to speak. But I think starting with the models I'm friends with will help. Cheers, and thanks again for all you do here.
