Added 2021-09-14 16:00:06 +0000 UTCShinji Ikari - the protagonist of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Rebuild of Evangelion - has been shipped with multiple characters in the franchise; Kaworu Nagisa, Asuka Soryu and most recently Mari Makinami. However, with the Evangelion series concluding with the fourth Rebuild movie “Thrice Upon A Time,” Shinji choosing to be with Mari considering everything he’s gone through in Evangelion 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 beforehand isn’t just Shinji being Shinji. So here’s my attempt to give an analysis of Shinji Ikari’s mental breakdown and breakthrough over the course of the franchise to explain who he should be REALLY with.
