it actually is true and real. The speed may be hyped up more but its very common for Japanese high schoolers to throw over 100 pitches in a game unlike in America. If you remember, thats something Chris's father mentioned when he first showed up. The mangaka played baseball all his life and even went to Koshien in high school so its very realistic to his experiences. (he was an outfielder who wanted to be a pitcher but was never good enough, so basically hes tojo)

It gives me chills and I love it sooo much hahaha Mei walking off the mound before the ball was even caught reminds me of Sora / Midorima going back to defense before their 3s even go in.
