it actually is true and real. The speed may be hyped up more but its very common for Japanese high schoolers to throw over 100 pitches in a game unlike in America. If you remember, thats something Chris's father mentioned when he first showed up. The mangaka played baseball all his life and even went to Koshien in high school so its very realistic to his experiences. (he was an outfielder who wanted to be a pitcher but was never good enough, so basically hes tojo)

The OST that starts playing for Mei there, genuinely sounds so royal lol I love it. Goes well with Meis "I am the king" theme

This show does some pretty good stuff to keep the realism of the sport but Furuya's pitches and pitch count aren't one of them lol definitely one of the more "anime" aspects of the show

Narumiya is basicly a less extreme version of baro from BL lmao

I do wanna mention that part of the reason why Furuya got more shine than Eijun (disregarding the Senbatsu performance) is because he's a flamethrower. The type of pitching he's shown so far just gets people more excited

Furuya debuted in the Kanto tournament, which is the tournament that comes after this one, while Eijun and Haruichi started playing in the summer tournament! As for the new first years youβll get to know pretty soon! Goosebumps as always to Meiβs and Inashiroβs comeback sheeshhh

We all know Mei is a badass but he's on a different level of badass in this episode. It gives me chills and I love it sooo much hahaha Mei walking off the mound before the ball was even caught reminds me of Sora / Midorima going back to defense before their 3s even go in. The confidence is π₯π₯π₯π₯.
