Chapter 1 - New Backgrounds and Update

Hello Patrons,

This week I, Zuripai Sama, have been working on the 3D scenes for 2 of the new backgrounds for Chapter 1!

...that’s about it… they took a while...

I drank a lot of caffeinated drinks too. It helped!

There is still a lot of work to be done on them which I will be continuing to work out with Bukacain, adding more details where needed. But it's a good first pass. 

The outdoor scene has also been modelled in a very particular way to cater for some ideas we are working on to turn Paizuri University into something more than just a Visual Novel. And it’s going to be a fairly big change. One I’m not sure will make it into Chapter 1, but we will be testing it to see if we can.

It is something we’ve been wanting to do for a while. And it hasn’t been possible until Zurizuri Engine was born, allowing us to solve a large number of critical issues to do with managing games of fairly broad scope. But there will be more about that in the future which I’m very excited about sharing!

The Zurizuri programming has been fairly light this week as well, testing and adjusting performance related issues for Chapter 1. With that mostly stable, most of the work is now art and graphics, which Bukacain will also be talking about a bit later today.

OH! Almost forgot.

Our first Alpha release is scheduled for next Wednesday. It includes these new backgrounds, the first part of the story, and some new characters, all of which are still a work-in-progress (hence alpha).

I hope “Cup” and up tiers are all lookin’ forward to getting it a week sooner than everyone else! Everyone in the Shot Glass reward will have to wait just a little longer.
