0.1 Fixes!

Hey everyone! Wanted to get the fixes out as quickly as possible (mostly cause 1 was a little more game breaking than I'd like it...)


Also, a new game will be required. (Although I hate doing it….) you can load previous saves but because I’m utilising new variables, it will break a lot of stuff….

Changes:

- Portals. When you enter Pentop for the first time, Anima will open a gateway back to her. Same goes for when you hit the Screeone mountains. (and probably every location from there...) You can use the portal to teleport back to her immediately.

- Height Cap: There is a new height limit in place. This increases when you complete story based events or side events. It also allows me to manage the players size a bit easier when it comes to eventing (so text doesn't sound odd...)

- Monster Locations: Monsters have been shuffled around in the Forest. Goblins and the Mushrooms will now appear right outside of where Anima is, with the Bears and Snakes further back (The Treant stays where he is... since he's only a 1 of.... and needs a bit of space as he beeg....)

- Monster Nerfs: The status conditions inflicted by monsters have been severely reduced. Most were at 50% as a default. Now they are around 10-15% with Poison being at 20% since antidotes are plentiful. 

- Early Game: After you meet Anima for the first time and can finally explore, you will be gifted some levels immediately... so you won't need to grind as much (If you did grind, they'll be added on top...)

- There were also a bunch of fixes. 

- The girl at the Inn now doesn't block the way when you beat the adventurer.

- Monsters in the Screeone mountains actually give experience and gold now.

- Anima can now heal you for a price (Essence or Height) - This may have some implications later on.... Not quite sure yet...

- Modified the sizes of some enemy sprites so they aren't as large....

- Fixed an issue where you couldn't backtrack once you went deep into the Mountains. 

- Added an option to speed up combat animations (Head to the options tab in the Menu and change it to go faster)

- Added bust art graphics into the menu.

- Set essence drain to cost 0 (Not sure if this will stay permanent but will make grinding essence a little easier.

Next up will be 0.2 which will cover Toko City (and will probably be a fairly meaty update as Toko is quite big....) and who is this mysterious female cultist..... :P

In addition, going to try play around with size mechanics in battle to illustrate how big you actually are. (I.E. If your quite big, the enemy sprite will appear much smaller etc..)

The idea was she's looking down on it. hence the sky darkens around you and the sky is behind her face at the top of the screen.

my god i thought this day would have never come. Just finished the demo and iam stunned thank you so much for this amazing content. Only thing i would have loved to see is when melanie visited the village it just got dark. Maybe you could add some kind of indicator how big she is like a foot or something?

Noticed that Anima does the same thing as the innkeeper after Fairy Village. You can't leave after dealing w/ the queen, regardless of choice.

I might experiment with some plugins for that. Currently there’s two ways to increase max height (three but it’s right at the end of 0.11 so I don’t count it) Maybe try visit the Fairy Village again…. But I do like the idea of using a skill tree… or I may just make a work around that let’s you keep the excess so it doesn’t get wasted

Eh, not a deal breaker, was just curious if I could do it. If nothing else, I still have version .1 if I want to play w/o the limit. Still a fun experience either way. I might recommend implementing some way to carry over the excess essence from a "level up" instead of it all getting consumed to cut down on the grind for size. Perhaps a bank of essence that you can utilize later, like for a skill tree or manual size up?

Doesn’t work like that. If you wanted to try it. Copy the CommonEvents.json and paste it over the other. But, I can’t guarantee that will work.

If someone wanted to remove the height cap on the .11 version of the game, how would they go about doing that (assuming you can just do it by replacing files with ones from the .1 version)?

But of course! :D Hmm…. Well those are easy fixes at least. Shame that happened though :/ I’ll try get a patch out soon.

I hope its okay to post bugs here? 2 minor ones. Tried to ram the door to the armor shop (was too small) got bounced back to the fence and got stuck, lol. Fought innkeeper after getting big enough to Ram door, after defeat was stuck in super speed mode somehow...
