2025-06-20 01:38:16 +0000 UTCHello James enjoying listening to the recap, this is ross, from Auckland, and your description of the Asian confederation versus Oceania confederation was spot on, the funny part is you mentioned the Bournemouth owner only a club down these ways in the Australian league, and it’s that other Auckland FC team you referred to It is very bizarre that in theory Wellington and AFC are never eligible to compete in club World Cup due to the fact that they are Oceania confederation located teams and they only have a dispensation to play in the Australian league, even if they were to finish high enough or win the Australian league they would not be eligible to play in the Asian Champions League , which I think is a bit farcical, but these are the current rules, so neither Wellington Phoenix or Auckland FC would be ever seen at the club World Cup Aimless information I understand, but it is fun to be represented at this competition even if my local boys are getting pumped
