GDDS Decompressor
Added 2025-09-06 17:54:29 +0000 UTCFor those who need the DDS version of Texture++, here's a way to convert the GDDS version into the DDS version.
Usage Instructions
Extract Decompressor.zip to desired location
Run Decompress.ps1 in PowerShell from the folder. If you’re not familiar with using PowerShell, I suggest asking ChatGPT for guidance and sharing the script content for step-by-step instructions.
Enter the path to your Texture++ (GDDS version) folder when prompted.
The script will:
Decompress all .gdds textures into .dds.
Delete the original .gdds files once conversion is successful.
Update any .ini files to point to .dds instead of .gdds.
Storage Requirements (As of 5.8)
Finale: 22GB → 58GB after decompression
Finale 4K: 68GB → 148GB after decompression
Be sure you have enough free disk space.
Comments
Little heads up I had to rename to just texture++ as it would not work when it had finale 4k at the end

However, as noted in the known issues, certain skin mods may not work because GIMI handles model data differently. If you need those mods, you can use the decompressor to make Texture++ work for GIMI.
