Ah okay, no I posted my question as a private comment on the community board in Patreon (Sorry, wasn't sure where to put it at the time). I'm looking at last week's post and I don't see your question there. Did you ask it on Patreon? Also, there was a podcast last week but there was an error on youtube and both parts weren't uploaded to youtube, so I wasn't able to grab the beginning to sample for the audio only version. That error has been fixed now so I'll get last week's uploaded to audio only tonight.

Since this is the final Dark Pixel Podcast, what Dark Pixel videos, whether it be reviews, streams, or podcasts, did you guys enjoy making the most?

This is a great question, Tyler! Unfortunately we haven't played it yet. I was thinking about picking it up last week but I have too many games left unfinished this year that I want to beat first before spending that kind of money again. Seeing as it’s pretty hot right now, Have either of you played Red Dead Redemption 2 yet? (Or seen clips of it?) If so what are your thoughts & is this setting the standard for how open world games should be going in the future? In comparison to FF15 this game took - I believe - 8 years & is full to the brim, when comparing this to FF15 it shows the gulf in “class” between the two as “open world” games

Are there any books, games or otherwise that you look back at and feel were critical to your growth as a writer or entertainer, but that you feel in retrospect weren't very good? Alternatively, do you have any "guilty pleasure" books or games that you like to return to?

With the “Dark Pixel Gaming” part of your channel’s history coming to a close, it might be a good time to reflect on the past while looking forward to the future. 1. Looking back and knowing what you know now, what have you learned from your time being a gaming-specific Youtube creator? Do you have any advice or tips for those who might have recently started a channel or are considering starting one soon? 2. Knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently? (Or do you have no regrets?) 3. What aspect of your content do you think has improved the most from when you first started DPG compared to your recent videos? 4. What aspect of your content do you think could still improve moving forward with the re-branding and new focus of the channel? 5. Since the scope of the re-branding will cover more than just gaming related content, what books, films, or TV shows are you really itching to cover for upcoming videos?

I think as a sort of wrap up or forward thinking question I'd like to see your thoughts on the future of gaming as technology and/or design Egs. VR or 3d as trends or an actual continued future or designs of continued open world (Rockstar Games and Bethesda) or maybe even continuing to build bigger games on smaller devices like phones and tablets. Although this may be vague but I kind of would like the general high scale of it all.

What is your favourite game that has been universally panned by critics and audiences, and why?

I'll keep mine relatively short(and will probably be in your chat Tuesday night to elaborate if needed). Here goes: Is there any world that comes to mind when you think of the most immersive worlds in gaming? A couple of weeks ago you were discussing a developer's opinion that world building is potentially the single most important part of making an RPG. That got me thinking and I whole-heartedly agree. I played the Assassins creed Ezio trilogy, and absolutely loved the world. I was amazed at how authentic everything felt and I truly felt like I was a part of Ezio's world. It was like I was in Italy all of those years ago. That's what comes to my mind first for me. Then I think about FFXIV. I've only played about 6 hours, and can't seem to stop thinking about developing my character in this world, and learning about Hydaelyn in every capacity possible. I get excited to sit down and engulf my mind in a vast world that's not my own. So I sit down, and play, but am put off by the mechanics, due to my peculiar gaming preferences. Here's the meat of my question: Have you ever played a game like Life is Strange, and wish it had the depth and grandeur of a game like FFXIV? I am the strangest type of gamer who does NOT like gameplay. I love lore, story, and immersive worlds. Gameplay is not necessary to a good game, whereas story is an absolute necessity to me. I know this may just be more of a discussion from a topic weeks back, but I felt it was a topic that could spawn a very interesting discussion. Love every minute of your content, and can't get enough. Keep creating the truly enlightening videos, and have an awesome transition with your branding. Peace and love, Micah. :)
