They still had it in the other seasons but it was a little more nuanced. I liked the first season but rest are soo much better. The final season was epic in their concept. Also, Ron Swanson is the greatest man who ever lived.

They kept the "documentary" style for shooting the episodes. Also Aubrey Plaza's character of April was created *for* her. She was an intern(?) and already an aspiring stand-up comic and they loved her deadpan humor.

The character of Ron Swanson came partially from a guy they met who said he was a libertarian. When asked why a libertarian would work for the government he said, "I'm taking them down from the inside."
