They obviously use cartoon/game logic on why they're able to just have all of that equipment and food on them at all times, but it actually does kind of make sense in series as well, I mean, the Pokemon world has teleporters and is able to shrink things down like capsules in Dragonball, I mean Onix is able to fit in a Pokeball. Yet not a smartphone in sight... their tech really is like early Dragon Ball lol. It is nice to get reminded every now and then that Brock is genuinely a caring person who does a lot for Ash and Misty, and not just a perv.
