From perfecting a legacy to pulling the sick card on 3 separate disabled retirees... crowned by the most pathetic end to a fight in the series...
This character had some potential too. At least we have Oliva coming up to redeem AMERICA-DA.

The writing in Baki can be bizarre. I think a lot of it can be chalked up to Itagaki just doing whatever the hell he wants and changing his mind in the middle of an arc. Thankfully the fighting and ridiculous shenanigans are so good they can carry the series despite the strange writing.

The Ali Jr arc is a bit of a headscratcher. Usually each arc focuses around a series of fights leading to a climactic fight (usually with some personal stakes in it, such as Jack and Baki fighting after they find out they are brothers) and then a new arc begins.
Ali Jr is built up to be Baki's rival, he's another young prodigy, he's got his own new fighting style, he's going after Baki's girlfriend, even Yujiro expects big things from him. After a few brief wins he proceeds to get beaten down multiple times in a row (meant to be a humbling experience to teach him the difference between fighting as an athlete and fighting with your life on the line, but ultimately it's to help his personal growth). And after all buildup...he gets instantly taken down by Baki and that's it, the arc ends and Ali Jr leaves. It's such a weird arc.
