In a way Luffy is upholding Ace's promise in his stead. Of course Luffy has his own reasons, but no doubt he'd throw in Ace's promise to the equation and because he considers Tama a friend. I also choke up a little when I see Marco get teary eyed thinking back to Ace. I also do like that he understands that Kaido's men are not attacking him out of hatred or spite, but fear of Queen and Kaido. I also really hope that Tama and Otoko become friends eventually. I could see them getting along.

So Marco got stabbed and you seemed surprised. But he was fine because remember he has a MYTHICAL ZOAN that produces Phoenix flames like Logia user. Just remember moving forward from most common to most rarest Devil Fruits - Paramecia (Super Human) -Luffy, Big Mom, Brook, Robin, Buggy, Doflamingo, etc. - Zoan (Animal) - Chopper, Rob Lucci, King, Queen, etc. - Logia (Weather Based) - Akainu, Blackbeard, Sabo, Kizaru, Crocodile - MYTHICAL ZOAN (Mythical Animal) - Kaido, Marco, Sengoku Again Logias are the rarest type of Devil Fruit all together, thus why their the toughest opponents. BUT Mythical Zoans are the rarest subclass within all the Devil Fruits as they give you the attributes of a Zoan and potentially the other DF types as well, depending on the Zoan type a person becomes. It’s a bit complicated but as long as you remember the list above you should be fine.
