I don't want to go into a huge amount of detail because it is a minor spoiler, but Jewelry Bonnie crying at the beginning is something I'd never given a second thought to, and now seeing it again, I thnk "Holy shit". It's just one of these minor story points that proves that Oda never asspulls anything. Also I'm fairly certain that anyone that doesn't get a rush from Luffy jumping in front of the admirals should see a doctor. They may in fact be dead.

If Aokiji was the fleet admiral the Marines would have a more moral approach to justice. If Akainu was the fleet admiral the Marines would have a more ruthless approach to justice. If Kizaru was the fleet admiral the Marines would be high smoking weed.

Kizaru is just so funny. It seems like he’s part high all the time but it’s not like the Navy can tell him to get his shit together since he can just casually throw out lightspeed kicks and literal lasers. He could easily be the most devastating Admiral if he had the motivation or cared to get his job done immediately. The main joke Oda wrote into his character is that he’s lightspeed guy but he takes things slow like talking. I wish we knew how Kizaru became a marine. He just feels like the type of character to just get asked to join and immediately just say “Okay. Whatever I guess” and just stick with it.
