Dark Souls Part 8!

Forget Blighttown why have I never heard of this place before bloody hell

Dark Souls Part 8!

Comments

Wow that was amazing! Never seen anyone do Ornstein & Smough so quickly 😮 And you stayed so calm the entire time!

Huib Gelling

The artist who designed the chick with a "perfect" chest was so proud of his work, the game developer didn't have the heart to turn down his work, so now we have massive incentives to die again and again and again. Praise the Sun, and may its form bestow satisfaction upon the world!

Really enjoyed the extra touches you gave the video during editing. Particularly the very cinematic sequence at around 1:25:30 - Although I couldn't recognize where the OST you played was from, I still felt it fit very nicely. And of course, an extremely job well done with O & S. Multi-boss fights can always feel extra pressuring and chaotic. One of the many reasons the Mantis Lords is one of my favorite fights. Finally, I am not the only one that has mentioned it, but I really can't see any swelling around your face or any extra redness towards the end of the video, so I hope that boosts your self confidence a tiny bit. Really looking forward to more Dark Souls, as it is always a treat to watch your gameplay improve during the playthrough.

Baseline? Doubtful. Idk, pass Go and collect $200.

At a certain point, you don't look tired. You just look like a person who has been talking to herself alone in a room for hours, unsure how much of said gibberish will even be noteworthy, and ultimately too bothered to care that your baseline personality is being exposed to the entire internet.

YOU DID THE THING! God, I love testing out new stuff. It's not about whether you can use it right now, it's about testing how it feels, so you can imagine entirely different adventures using different stats, armor, weapons, spells, allegiances, failures, and discoveries to write an epic story once more. You didn't do it with Bloodborne, but these games are made to be played multiple times, so you can feel like a badass by your second or third run with a single character. You will eventually have enough stats for everything you want, but right now, you probably want vigor and endurance after upgrading your weapon if possible. How often do games immerse you enough to stop analyzing them, and what have been some of the best examples you've experienced?

Now that you've defeated Ornstein and Smough...the true Dark Souls starts here.

1:58:42 for the record amber, i honest to god do not see anything amiss about your face. i know it's always impossible to believe someone when they say you look fine even though you're sure you don't, but you're fine. at most i would have guess that maybe you were trying a slightly new camera angle or settings, but even then i wouldn't have thought about it unless someone pointed out that something looked different. also i would totally suggest you try experimenting with different weapons. there's so many in the game, i feel like it would almost be wrong not to find the one you like most!

You might want to tell Siegmeyer (the "Onion Knight") that you took care of the Silver Knights that had trapped him in that room. The guy is always very deep in thought, so he might not have noticed you fighting them right in front of him ;) Also, try inspecting the Black Eye Orb. Remember what it said, when you found it on the corpse of the Firelink Firekeeper?

Nice, a 2 video weekend and a longer episode! Can't wait to see how you deal with Anor Londo, I cheesed the hell out of it and O+S.

Don't worry about whether or not you struggling in Dark Souls makes a video fun to watch, because it's a Souls game. Struggling and overcoming the challenge is what makes it great! You did very well against Ornstein and Smough, which is easily one of the best fights in the game (with an amazing soundtrack to boot!). You learned to separate them fast and then picking them apart slowly. Don't be afraid to try new weapons. Upgrade materials are plentiful and farmable/buyable. You varied your main damage stats quite a bit (Dexterity and Strength) making it easy enough to find a new weapon! It may feel slightly weaker then your Black Knight Sword at the start, even at comparable upgrade levels, but that's because the base damage on the sword is crazy good. Once stats are sorted it'll even back out! Well, onto the next part we go! Keep doing what you're doing, it's going great!

The two most amazing moments in Dark Souls: The first time you visit Anor Londo, and the last time you visit Anor Londo!

Re: your comment at the end about what weapon you're happy with—honestly, the moveset is the pinnacle of weapon-choice in Dark Souls. Lesser stats with a fun moveset will always make for a more fun playthrough. I actually really like the basic longsword's moveset (fast, varied moves that cover all bases, surprising reach on the thrust). I always prefer the feeling of a fast, nimble character. And thankfully, even the most basic weapons upgraded sufficiently can be great, viable weapons in Dark Souls (that said, a few weapons have absolutely terrible movesets that make them extremely boring). So basically, play around and find something that feels fun—it'll be good enough to take you through the game once upgraded, even if it's not peak stats.

Was not expecting this so soon! Looking forward to seeing how you dealt with a certain archer...
